Bridget Jones interviews Colin Firth (not Mark Darcy) in the DVD extras |
I do love that they didn't catch the mistake of her saying Mark Darcy instead of Mr. Darcy and her smelling her hand at the end is just priceless. Well, I hope you enjoyed that, even though I'm sure most of you have seen that before. I sure got my laugh for the day.
N.B. Just found out that not only are they planning a sequel to Bridget Jones (Bridget Jones 3?) they are also contemplating a musical adaptation of the franchise starring Sheridan Smith (Cinderella Doe from Larkrise to Candleford) and music by Lily Allen, with the director and choreographer from Billy Elliot (Stephen Daldry and Peter Darling). The film sequel is slated for 2011 but the musical is not likely to appear until 2012. Well how about that?
Gotta love that Bridget Jones! Imagine how crazy she'd be going during the current awards season, with all of the opportunities to interview Colin Firth ... and just how many times will he have to endure similar Bridget Jones-ish interviews from the various vacuous members of the "entertainment press". He could turn it into a drinking game, and take a shot for every time the character of Mr. Darcy (or the wet shirt scene) are mentioned by an interviewer! Good thing his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is in front of a pub! LOL! Love, Big Sister
ReplyDeleteYes, just imagine if he were interviewed by Hugh Grant's character from Notting Hill..."Horse and Hound here...just wondering about the horse you were riding in Pride and Prejudice...you know that scene where you dismount, and then remove most of your clothes...and then jump into the water and get your shirt wet? Was the horse alarmed at being able to see your nipples?"
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike sis! Cheers!
I hope Colin is in the next Bridget Jones movie! LOL! I love your comments about the horse!! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteThat interview is hilarious! I love the DVD version of "Edge Of Reason." I saw on E!, a while back, that they were making a third movie, where Mark and Bridget were having a baby. I'm looking forward to the movie even though it wasn't based on a third book. When I couldn't read a third installment, I read "Olivia Joules"- a very fun read!
ReplyDeleteLove it! This was one of my favorite scenes in that book and I had somehow never seen this in the special features on the DVD. Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it Julia! As soon as I read this scene in the book, I wondered how they were going to do it in the film, as Colin Firth couldn't play himself and Mark Darcy too. Very smart to include it in the extras.
ReplyDeleteI bet Colin Firth is thinking of this interview with Bridget during his current round of press for The King's Speech. Let's hope none of the interviewers get it this wrong. Although that would be very funny...
i love them both
